On of our "adopted daughters" also turned 15 this week. Elora invited us to her Birthday party and we had a great time! Nick unfortunately caught my plague and had to stay home so I took the kids over by myself. Ten minutes after getting there Katie barfed. So weird. We think she's allergic to birthday parties because the last time she threw up was at Mickey's birthday party last weekend! After she threw up she was totally fine. Luckily I had a pair of shorts on under her dress so she was only half naked for the party! We ate pizza and hung out laughing and having a good time. The girls played with the kids on the trampoline where they had a fun time playing a game of "dump ice on the trampoline then bounce the ice everywhere" game. We had some birthday cake and before I knew it it was 9pm so I dragged the kids home so they could continue on with their sleep over. It was a total blast. I sure love my girls! I'm always my happiest when I'm with them. Happy Birthday Elo!

The Graduate
Drew graduated from preschool today! His class sung 5 songs to the parents and then they handed out diplomas! Super cute! We then headed outside for a picnic in the sun and some ice cream! We are so proud of our Drew and all he has learned this year! He is very excited to start Kindergarten in the fall and finally be at the same school with Abby!

3 Months
Aiden turns 3 months old today. In some ways that has went by quickly and in other ways its hard to believe he has not been part of our family for longer than that!
Aiden laughed for the first time last week but hasn't again since then. He continues to be a pretty good sleeper. Usually sleeping about 5 hours straight. Some colds and coughs have messed with that a bit but not to much. He is such a sweet little guy who is all smiles. I am a total sucker for those dimples!! He can even raise one eyebrow at a time! It's such a crack up!
Katie and Drew have taken to calling Aiden Bubba. Drew just called him that one day and said that Aiden always smiles and coos at him when he calls him that. So we are all starting to call him that now. I still call my brother Bubba so it's cute to hear the kids call their brother Bubba too.
Aiden sure has a lot to say these days! He loves it when you talk to him and then pause to let him "talk" back to you. He is our first kid to actually say goooooo gaaaaa! Such a stereotype! He is getting stronger with each passing day and really working at that head control!
We couldn't ask for a sweeter little guy than him! He is defiantly the world's most kissed baby! Probably how he keeps getting all those colds! His favorite things continue to be his binky, a soft blanket to be wrapped up in, and someone to snuggle up on. He is beginning to venture out by taking on the play mat though! I am hoping that his babyhood doesn't fly by to quickly. I am really enjoying it!

Surprise!
This weekend we attended a Surprise Birthday Party for one of my high school girls. Michalea turned 15 and her family threw her a surprise party. We BBQ and the kids swam and played with water ballons, Nick played a dice game with Michela's brothers while I hung out on the trampoline with the girls. It was some fun bonding time! Poor James fell off a chair and smashed his face up pretty bad though. His lip is still swollen up and he looks a little like the mayor of Whoville! No teeth are loose but the front two teeth are pushed back differently now. It's always something!

Going, going, gone...
We had a garage sale yesterday and today. We were able to make some vacation money and get rid of a ton of stuff at the same time! The kids had fun selling lemonade, sodas, water and licorice during the garage sale. They made $20 and got to hang out outside for two days straight! Thanks for all your hard work Nick!

Lone Pine Farm
Last weekend we stopped by Lone Pine Farm for a little visit. Elora and Evuana joined us in feeding the goats, playing on the playground, and checking out the produce. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had fun soaking up some sun!

PJ Day!
Last Friday was Drew's PJ and Teddy Bear Day at school! The kids all look so darn cute! It's funny to see the kids personalities come out in what they choose to wear to school on these fun days. Next up is Dino Day on Friday!

Inheritance
Eastside Faith Center played this movie at the end of church on Sunday. It moved me to tears and I thought others of you might want to see it too.

Mother's Day
I have had such a great Mother's Day today! The kids made me cards and drawings at school and at church. They even wrote a poem for me! We are going to BBQ for dinner tonight and have some strawberry shortcake for dessert! I am so very blessed to be a Mother to 5 wonderful kidos!

Beach Day
Friday was Beach Day at school for Drew. The kids got to wear their beach clothes to school for a day full of fun. They played games and learned how to surf. They had fun sunglasses, leis, and visors for the kids to try on. Even Katie got in on the action! Drew had a blast. It's hard to believe preschool is almost over for him!

Tip Toe through the Tulips
This weekend Team Askew took a romp through the tulip fields at the Tulip Festival in Woodburn. It was raining and very muddy but we still had a good time! Our friends the Colachico's met us out there and the kids had fun running around together and taking pictures. It cracked me up when Kaite thought the mud on her shoes was poop! The Tulip Festival is one of my favorite family activities that we do each year. It is such a beautiful place! I always say it must be what heaven looks like! We hope our trip out there next year is in the sunshine!
We planned on going to the last softball game of the season at Corban College in Salem after we left the Tulip Festival but it got rained out. The Colachico's were so sweet and invited us over to their house to hang out and have some pizza. It was a super fun day!
